WHAT IS MANUAL OSTEOPATHY

HOW DOES IT WORK?

A core principle behind Manual Osteopathy is the idea that the body is an integrated and indivisible whole, and contains self-healing mechanisms that can be utilized as part of the treatment. Manual Osteopathy utilizes gentle manual adjustment technics to evoke the healing power inside the body and support its transition from disease to health.

The effectiveness of Manual Osteopathy is based upon a deep understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology as well as on the highly developed palpation skills of the practitioner. This approach is very helpful in conditions ranging from pain to organ dysfunction and emotional difficulties.

HOW LONG THE TREATMENT LAST?

At first appointment, we go over the health history and discuss the health issues. An assessment includes observation of posture as well as medical tests. After first diagnostic, we discuss a plan of osteopathic care that is specific to a patient health goals. The therapy may include massage, stretching, repetitive movements, mobilization and/or manipulation.

Next times, there will be a quick assessment (in order to guide the process of healing) and manipulative treatment. The number of times a patient needs to come depends on the overall health and severity of the disease.
